His grandmother, Peggy, who had raised Dallas after his mom passed away, was in attendance. This will be something of a ‘homecoming’ for Dallas. He was drafted by the A’s after his junior season at Texas Tech and pitched for the RockHounds over parts of three seasons (2005-06-07) on his way to The Show. After his playing career, he became a studio analyst for ESPN in 2014 and joined NBC Sports California in 2017 as a pre-and postgame host for A’s television. Dallas has now been the color commentator for A’s TV broadcasts for the last seven seasons.
The event will also include two-time Super Bowl champion, Jim Jeffcoat. Jeff played a role in three eras with the Dallas Cowboys and was a member of the back-to-back Super Bowl championship teams (1992 & 1993). Playing under head coaches Tom Landry, Jimmie Johnson, and Barry Switzer, Jim never missed a game in 12 seasons. (1983-94) with Dallas, appearing in 188 games.
