Eagles Shadow Trading Post Celebrates Grand Opening as Midland's First Authentic Native American Jewelry Store
MIDLAND, TX - Eagles Shadow Trading Post is proud to announce the grand opening of its retail location at 200 Spring Park Dr Suite 104, Midland, TX, located in Ally Village. The event will take place on Saturday, May 13th, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and marks a significant cultural milestone for the Midland community.
Eagles Shadow Trading Post is the first authentic Native American jewelry store in Midland, with a rich cultural influence that includes the Hispanic community, celebrating the owner’s heritage. The store boasts an extensive collection of one-of-a-kind Native American turquoise, handmade sterling silver, and gem-quality pieces that pay tribute to the region's indigenous peoples and their unique heritage.
"We are excited to bring a piece of our culture to the Midland community through our store," said Keith McLelland, owner of Eagles Shadow Trading Post. "Our collection represents the best of Native American craftsmanship and artistry, and we're thrilled to showcase it to the Midland community."
The grand opening will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at 1 p.m., followed by captivating performances that reflect the rich cultural diversity of the area. The event will kick off with a traditional folklorico performance by the Hispanic Culture Center from 1-2 p.m., showcasing the region's Hispanic heritage. Later in the day, Native Pride Productions, Inc. Fancy Dancers & Storytelling will entertain with a mesmerizing performance featuring Larry Yazzie & Sean Soukkala from 5-6 p.m. Yazzie has performed globally at the Olympics, The Kennedy Center, and Smithsonian Institute. He has earned a reputation for being one of the nation’s experts on Native American dance.
The grand opening will also feature a trunk show with Mathew Charley's Turquoise and Gold Collection, a talented artist known for his exceptional craftsmanship in Native American jewelry. Charley’s pieces have been housed in numerous museums and across the country, have been cited in several magazines, and earned multiple ribbons at the 2018 Santa Fe Indian Market Show. Farmhouse Vineyards will offer wine tastings from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and small bites will be available throughout the day. Raffles and giveaways will also be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with plenty of opportunities to win exciting prizes.
