6 Local Nurseries in Midland TX
Spring has officially arrived in Midland, TX. Now is the perfect time to plan your landscaping- and, of course, deal with all that was killed off by the epic February Freeze of 2021. Fortunately, Midland has several garden centers and nurseries that will have your home and garden needs covered.
After a long hard 2020, many have become more focused on sustainability and making our homes more of a retreat by planting gardens that aren’t only aesthetically pleasing but also reduce the trips to the grocery store (or at least herbs for a killer cocktail).
As always, make sure to check with these businesses on their hours depending on the season.

The Agave Garden
Family-owned and operated, The Agave Garden just celebrated its 10-year Anniversary. You’ve undoubtedly seen their sign peaking over the 250 Loop as you shop at HEB, beckoning you to come to check it out. Now is the time and we’ll bet you won’t leave empty-handed.
Highlights:
Wide selection of trees, shrubs, flowers, herbs, and succulents along with the soil, fertilizer, etc. that you need to do the job right (the first time)
Great customer service and knowledgeable staff
Delivery, installation, and landscape design are also available
A curated selection of outdoor furnishings, pots, and planters along with an on-site design studio & home furnishings boutique, Hartley Haus
Bonus: They focus their offerings on plants that thrive in this climate (i.e. much harder to bring something home and immediately kill it)
Location
El Rosal
This lesser-known gem is open 7 days a week and feels a bit like you’ve been transported out of Midland. Tucked away off of Marienfield and Florida just south of Downtown, you’ll find El Rosal where it has been located for more than 7 years.
Highlights:
Reasonably priced perennials, annuals (although early Spring will get you the best selection on this), trees, shrubs, indoor & outdoor plants, succulents, and more.
Unique metal art, antique metal yard decor, swings, birdhouses, chimineas, and more
Inside the shop with unique decor, gifts - including hand-poured candles from The Candle Cafe (made right here in Midland)
Friendly owner and helpful staff
Bonus: You'll also find a great view of Downtown Midland from her shop.
Location
The Botanical Boutique
A small, urban garden center located in the Ally Village shopping center. If “modern nursery” or “nursery fusion” is a thing, The Botanical Boutique is the place setting that trend. Is it a gift shop? Custom florist? Garden center? A small break from reality? We think so.
The Botanical Boutique is family-owned and operated, opening back in early 2017. This little shop (perhaps the smallest of all of those on our list) has a lot to offer.
Highlights
A wide variety of indoor/outdoor plants & herbs and the supplies needed to do that job
Custom potting / plant arrangements
Landscape design & installs
Conveniently in Ally Village- this means you can easily grab brunch at Butter, a gelato pop from Pop Bar, or stroll over to Baker Schorr Fine Art for some inspiration to guide your plant selection
Bonus: Full-service florist & event planner
Location
Sandy’s Nursery
This family-owned nursery boasts a great selection of plants, flowers, shrubs, etc; however, Sandy’s selection of trees is where they really shine. The facility spans both sides of the street.
Highlights
Emphasis on fruit, ornamental, and other unique trees
Landscaping, installation, & maintenance services also available
A selection of patio furnishings, imported pottery, iron decor, and more.
Helpful staff and reasonably priced
Bonus: Those plants you kill every winter because leave them outside? They also offer a service to store and care for them in their nursery during the colder months and can winterize any vulnerable landscaping.
Location
La Casa Verde
Located off of Midland Dr, La Case Verde has two locations in the area - one in Midland and one in Odessa. This family-owned nursery has been a part of the Midland local business community since it was established in 1977.
Highlights:
Flowers, shrubs, trees, seeds, and more for all of your home and garden needs
Size-able selection of pots and a shop inside with gifts and garden adornments
Knowledgeable and friendly staff
Bonus: on the website - a month-by-month guide to gardening and landscape care here in West Texas (super helpful for those of us that may be less than of a “green thumb”)
Location
Alldredge Gardens
Certainly the largest and most comprehensive of all aforementioned nurseries, there is little you won’t find at Alldredge Gardens. If you think you’re able to find everything you need at Lowe’s or Home Depot, think again. The garden center at the big box stores is massive, you’re in for a real surprise.
Highlights
Huge selection of flowers, trees, shrubs, Luxury outdoor furnishings, gardening and yard tools, lighting, and gifts
A wide array of landscaping and lawn maintenance services
Much of their inventory is even grown onsite
An onsite cafe, Cafe at the Gardens, where you can dine inside the greenhouse beside a koi pond
Alldredge also doubles as a wedding/event venue and hosts markets the first Saturday of each month (aside from Winter)
Location
We love our local garden centers in Midland, TX but you also cannot overlook the plants, flowers, and other garden goodies you can find every Saturday at the Midland Downtown Farmer’s Market.
