Without further ado, here’s our guide to local coffee shops in Midland, Texas:
Missing your favorite local coffee shop? Email us and we will get it added.
Amara Gelato
More than artisan gelato and French crepes, you may find yourself stopping into Amara more frequently for a taste of their Illy Italian espresso offering. The menu is simple - espresso, double espresso, americano, cappuccino, & affogato (because what is better than gelato combined with espresso?).
Location:
Black Rifle Coffee Co.
When it comes to Black Rifle Coffee Co., think locally made and homemade baked goods complemented by a caffeinated, hot, or cold beverage of your choice in a rustic, all-American shop.
The best parts of this veteran-owned shop are definitely the indoor and outdoor fireplaces, the drive-thru, and of course, the Flour Child sweet bites and Bites at the Vineyard savory treats on the menu.
Also inside this Midland coffee shop is a large variety of coffee beans for sale to take the BRCC flavor into your home along with tons of merch to rep the brand.
Midlanders can expect to see another location in the New Year for even more delicious bites and great coffee.
Location:
Nitro Espresso
This drive-thru (woo-hoo!) is a great alternative to a certain chain coffee place we all know about.
Nitro Espresso (formerly Blue Moose) has a variety of specialty drinks as well as classics like the Americano, espresso, lattes, and cold brews. If you’re craving something sweet but watching your sugar intake, they have sugar-free options as well.
Location:
3303 West Illinois Ave Suite 16
Midland, TX 79703
(in front of Richard Milburn Academy)
Far West Coffee
Far West Coffee has been a part of the scene in Midland for over five years, popping up all over town before opening their much-anticipated brick-and-mortar location near Memorial Stadium (right next door to Perch).
The minimalist interior gives serious Marfa vibes and free wifi makes it the perfect spot to get some serious work done.
Order a vanilla latte with their housemade vanilla syrup or the famous oatchata. With a newly expanded baking menu, find a sweet or savory made-in-house good to accompany your expertly crafted bevvy. Check the croissants or the morning buns—some say the croissants are as good as those found in Paris.
Location:
CPL Rays
CPL Ray’s will fuel the loftiest of shopping explorations. While the story and what the company is founded on is amazing, the coffee is just as good!
A local favorite is an iced-americano or if you have a major sweet tooth, you’ll love their dirty iced chai lattes. Need a quick breakfast? They have you covered there, too.
Location:
The Grind Cafe
One of the newest spots in town, The Grind Cafe is located on the west side of town off Loop 250. Before you head to the grocery store next door, chill in the comfy indoors or sit outside to enjoy your Einspänner, honey toast, and macrons.
We’ve heard customer service is excellent and if you aren’t sure what to order, they are happy to help you choose from their plentiful options!

Their coffee menu has traditional selections like espressos and lattes but you can also switch things up with a sandwich, wrap, or pastry.
Location:
Juji’s Kitchen
Swing on into Juji’s for your next cup of Joe. Get it? Because they have swinging chairs.

If you’re looking for select espresso classics with a healthful twist, Fuel Bar is for you. You can order Bulletproof Coffee (a top-seller) and they’ll even know what you’re talking about.
The food menu is centralized around protein and nutrient-packed smoothies and acai bowls but you will also find a ready-to-eat breakfast burrito and a reach-in cooler full of a good variety of sandwiches/wraps, cold-pressed juice, and kombucha.
They offer a vegan breakfast burrito along with other vegan options, as well. It’s a family-friendly option with diapers and a changing table in the bathroom, kids’ corner with beanbags and books, and space between tables (there are no highchairs though).
Did we mention the paw-friendly patio?
Location:
The Human Bean
Before we hear you protest that “this is a franchise!”, rest assured that the ownership of this coffee shop is local.
One of very few locally owned, drive-thru coffee establishments in town, you can drive up to one and enjoy a plethora of coffee and tea options accompanied by snacks. We think that fits the bill for a daily coffee run if we do say so ourselves.
We’re also very happy that the delightful humans inside are doing their part to keep us out of the Starbucks drive-thru and making our dollars count in Midland.
