With a seasonal cocktail menu that’s bursting with different flavors, great service, and an ambiance that marries casualness and sophistication at the same time, this cocktail haven is a staple.
Our top pick is the Devil’s Tail, a potent concoction perfect for those with a taste for bold spirits and bittersweet notes.
Opal’s Table

Walking through the doors feels like stepping into a bygone era and it’s easy to picture yourself here in the 80s, sipping on a martini with the other downtown Midland businessmen.
When it comes to choosing a favorite from their lineup, our taste buds can’t help but lean toward the classic lemon drop.

Fat Bird’s
Go for: Hot sauce and spicy mixed drinks
Craving fiery hot wings? While cold beer is the usual choice in washing down the heat, we suggest you go to Fat Birds Wing Bar in Midland to enjoy their cocktail menu alongside the inventive chicken-forward menu.
The ambiance is casual, catch a game on one of their numerous TVs or groove to the music in the background. This spot is an enjoyable hangout experience. Our favorite cocktail special is their Watermelon Paloma with a rim of Tajin-just to keep the spice going!
Sip Haus

The standout among their menu is the Smoked Old Fashioned. The rich aroma of smoke mingles with the timeless blend of bourbon, bitters, and sugar.
Angry Armadillo

Angry Armadillo Whiskey Co. in Midland has been making an impression for its stiff, and delicious, mixed drinks. There is ample space inside with a relaxed atmosphere and a no smoking policy. The bar offers patrons a variety of games like dominoes, jenga, and more.
There is an outdoor area where those who do smoke can partake but enjoy the music from large, open windows. Their cocktail menu has variations on classics: their Kentucky Lemonade and Sour Armadillo for example.
Our favorite drink is their signature smoked cocktail, the Southern Peach. Cinnamon and peach flavors combine to recreate Grandma’s peach pie, boozy style.

The laid back and inviting atmosphere of the Patio Drafthouse in Midland is an excellent bar and restaurant to unwind with friends and family. It has a spacious outdoor patio and the bar’s interior setting is equally welcoming.
The cocktail and drink menu hosts something for everyone, from their various margaritas to a Cool Cucumber cocktail.
We settled on the classic Paloma as our fave from this bar. It’s refreshing yet tangy and truly hits the spot on a warm evening out.
Pi Social

Pi Social’s bar area compliments the dining experience, serving up drinks that pair perfectly with the pizzas.
Just a couple of our top picks from their long menu are The Bramble, which is a mix of gin, lime, and blackberries and the Tequila Honeysuckle, which is a simple mix of tequila, lime, and honey that we love alongside a Hog Pi.

Big City vibes on the corner of Lorraine and Wall Street with a view of Centennial Park, Little Bohemian is a fantastic spot for a cozy meal or evening drinks on a romantic night out. This intimate, French-inspired restaurant in downtown Midland has a carefully curated selection of cocktails.

Cowboy Prime

Michelin Star Chef Graham Elliott and Chef Felipe Armenta opened Cowboy Prime in Midland and it’s been a hit since. Of course known for its delicious and upscale red meat selection, the mixologists behind the bar know what they’re doing as well.
The Midland Sunset might be our favorite from their cocktail menu, because we know that anything that celebrates the West Texas sky has to live up to its name. Second place is the True Buckaroo, an old fashioned with a hint of mezcal.
Venezia
Go for: The ambiance of a cozy Italian trattoria
Venezia may be best known for its authentic Italian dining experience and robust wine selection (27 pages featuring over 500 labels), they are also putting out some pretty fantastic cocktails.
The selection of mixed drinks they offer perfectly complement their food menu. Whether you’re in the mood for an aperol spritz or a Limoncello martini, you’ll enjoy the flavors of Italy. And dare we say their Espresso Martini is the best in the Tall City?

The drinks mirror the atmosphere, they’re refreshing and make us think of Spanish summer nights. Try their Watermelon Blossom or Butterfly Effect, cocktails that are both gin based and fruity.

Leyenda Tequila and Coffee
Go for: Vibes and fusion cocktails
Leyenda Coffee and Tequila is one of Midland’s newer bars and we’ve enjoyed everything we’ve tasted so far. Small bites can be ordered to accompany your craft cocktails. And if you aren’t into alcoholic beverages, their coffee is top notch.
Try their Jalapeno Cilantro Margarita for a spicy and fresh kick.

Go for: A throwback to the 70’s
